Joshua Tom joined the ACLU of Mississippi as Staff Attorney before being promoted to Legal Director. Prior to joining the ACLU of Mississippi, Joshua was in private practice doing corporate litigation.

Jensen Luke Matar joined the ACLU of Mississippi in July 2018 as the Transgender Education & Advocacy Program (TEAP-MS) Coordinator, but he isn’t new to the organization.

Brian McCoy, Advocacy Coordinator

Brian A. McCoy Sr.  joined the ACLU of Mississippi as an Advocacy Intern in 2019 before getting a promotion to Advocacy Coordinator.  Now he focuses on the affiliate’s criminal justice reform, voter rights, and legislation policy. He is a native of Jackson, MS.

Michael Ann Galliano Oropeza joined the ACLU of Mississippi as a Litigation Specialist in September 2018. Michael Ann has an extensive history as an advocate for immigrants’ rights and social justice.

Cynthia Goodloe Palmer, Director of Operations

Cynthia Goodloe Palmer joined the ACLU of Mississippi in July 2018 as the Director of Operations and Administration. Cynthia also serves as the Executive Director of the Veterans of the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement, Inc and as the Secretary of the SNCC Legacy Project Board.
