Mississippi Civil Rights Power Reception
During Black History Month, the ACLU of Mississippi will convene an intentional gathering of Mississippi’s Black legislators, community leaders, attorneys, lobbyists, and civil rights advocates alike for an evening of strategic dialogue and connection. This event is designed to create space for reflection, collaboration, and forward-looking conversation at a moment when community alignment and collective resolve are more important than ever.
Mississippi’s history is deeply intertwined with struggles for civil rights, political representation, and access to power. Yet, time and again, Black and brown communities across the state have demonstrated resilience, leadership, and the ability to organize in the face of adversity. This convening honors that legacy by bringing together individuals who are actively shaping Mississippi’s legal, political, and civic landscape to assess where the state has been, where it stands now, and what the year ahead demands.
