EASSE Project Summer Internship

Location: Jackson, MS

Overview

Location: Hybrid work in Jackson, Mississippi.

Time Commitment: Hours are flexible with a goal of 25 hours/week.

Internship Duration: Part-time internships are a 9 week period.

Pay: Undergraduate or Graduate students will be paid $25/hr. Arrangements can be made with educational institutions for work/study or course credit

Roles & Responsibilities

As part of the EASSE Project, interns will contribute to initiatives focused on improving access to public benefits and social services. This includes:

  • supporting the implementation of EASSE findings
  • developing resources for families and case managers
  • assisting with EASSE clinic
  • contributing to data-driven advocacy efforts that strengthen service delivery systems across Mississippi
  • Other projects assigned

Experience & Qualifications

The internship is open to students who will have completed at least one year of undergraduate or graduate level courses before the internship commences. Interns should possess the following:

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze information and translate complex topics into clear, accessible language
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within deadlines
  • Interest in research, advocacy, and improving access to public benefits for families
  • Commitment to equity, community engagement, and public service
