Governor Bryant’s 2019 State of the State address painted a rosy picture of a state that has moved far beyond its dark past. The dramatic racial and economic disparities in our state reveal the fact that we have not come far enough.
We, therefore, urge the Mississippi State Legislature to support our 2019 Equity Agenda, to courageously refuse to hide behind the fact that this is an election year, and to take action on bills that will positively impact freedom, justice and equity in our state.
