Nominations
It's that time of year again! This is your chance to nominate members for the ACLU of Mississippi Board of Directors.
New board members will be elected at the annual Board of Directors meeting on December 3, 2022.
General members may petition nominees to the Nominations Committee for the Board of Directors through Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Petitions may be sent to office@aclu-ms.org.
Petitions must include:
- Nominee's name
- Nominee’s resume
- A short profile of the nominee
- Nominee’s photograph
- A short statement explaining why the nominee seeks a position on the Board of Directors
- A short statement from three ACLU of Mississippi members explaining why they support the nominee
The petition may take the form of an email from all three members with the required documentation attached. Please send petitions to office@aclu-ms.org.
The Board needs a minimum of seven nominees for the upcoming election, including three current Board members who are eligible for re-election and one to serve for one year (to complete the term of a board member who has resigned). The Board is specifically hoping to increase our representation from communities of color, transgender members, and members with disabilities.
