Bio
Brenden Davis joined the staff of the ACLU of Mississippi as Social and Digital Media Associate in July 2026. He is a graduate of Millsaps College, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art with a Digital Arts Concentration.
Prior to joining the ACLU of Mississippi, Brenden served as Digital Content Creator at Mississippi Votes, a statewide civic engagement nonprofit, where he led creative development for advocacy campaigns across digital, print, and motion platforms. Before that, he worked as a Graphic Artist at WLBT 3 News, producing broadcast graphics and motion assets for live television programming.
Brenden is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores Afro-Surrealism, abstraction, and the Black Southern experience through painting, mixed media, illustration, sculpture, and animation. His creative practice centers on storytelling, memory, and justice, reflecting his commitment to advancing civil rights through both art and public engagement. His work has been exhibited at the Mississippi Museum of Art, the Arts Center of Mississippi, the Municipal Art Gallery, and Hall Gallery, where he curated an exhibition in 2025. He is currently serving as a 2026 Visual Artist in Residence with Civil Rights Corps.
