The ACLU of Mississippi will host a community event, Redistricting and Representation, a town hall focused on helping voters understand how redistricting shapes representation in Mississippi. We will break down the redistricting process, explain why it matters, and provide updates on recent legal developments, including the Callais decision and how it impacts Mississippi voters.
The Voting Rights Act of 1965 has been systematically weakened by a series of landmark Supreme Court rulings. There is so much talk about fair maps, voting rights, and real concerns about where we go from here. While we face challenges, what this means is that Mississippians must be more diligent than ever in staying informed, rallying together, and ensuring our neighbors are prepared to do the same.
Special guest, Rep. Justin Crosby, House District 22 will host an open audience question-and-answer session.
