DACA Progam

U.S. District Judge Nicholas G. Garaufis tonight ordered the full reinstatement of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, extending 2-year renewals to DACA recipients and accepting applications from first-time applicants, in Batalla Vidal v. Wolf.

The Mississippi Center for Justice (MCJ) is offering free help to first-time applicants.

If you are someone who does not have DACA, and you think that you could qualify, please read the following requirements and fill out this form to be contacted by MCJ:

1. You were born after June 15, 1981;

2. You came to the United States before your 16th birthday;

3. You have been in the United States without leaving since June 15, 2007;

4. You were physically here in the United States on June 15, 2012;

5. You did not have a green card or permission to be here on June 15, 2012;

6. You are currently in school, you have graduated or you obtained a certificate of completion from high school. You also could have obtained a General Education Development (GED) certificate or can be taking classes to get one; and

7. You have not been convicted of a felony, significant misdemeanor, or three or more other misdemeanors, and do not otherwise pose a threat to national security or public safety.
