Wendy Thompson is a member of Dentons' Real Estate practice group and Tax-Advantaged Investing practice. She focuses on real estate transactions that involve low income housing tax credits and other tax incentives, from inception and initial investment through disposition. She represents investors in proprietary fund investments and direct investments. Her experience of having represented both developers and investors allows her to bring a unique perspective to these transactions. Wendy began her career in the affordable housing arena, where she focused on the tax aspects of affordable housing investments. After several years teaching tax- and business-related courses to law students, she returned to her legal practice and represented developers for 10 years. During that time, she was involved in transactions that utilized Hurricane Katrina relief incentives, as well as American Recovery and Reinvestment Act incentives, among others.
