SB 2606 is an unnecessary voter purging bill that requires the verification of citizenship status of registered voters. The bill would require a comparison between the Statewide Elections Management System and the state’s driver’s license and the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements databases to identify registrants who might not be U.S. citizens.  People who have not proven their citizenship within 30 days will be purged from the voter rolls. This bill is now in the House Apportionment and Elections Committee.
