The ACLU of Mississippi is seeking a passionate Communications Intern!
- Time Commitment: The communications internship requires a commitment of 15-20 hours per week.
- Internship Duration: Part-time internships are a 12-week period.
- Summer Internship Term: Flexible June start
- Stipend: A stipend of $3,600 is available for undergraduate students. Arrangements can be made with educational institutions for work/study or course credit.
Responsibilities:
The qualified candidate should have the ability to help implement our organization's social media and marketing strategy through content. Responsibilities might include:
- Assisting with social media calendar
- Creating social media content
- Researching relevant issues
- Conducting interviews
- Editing video
- Drafting blogs and press releases
Qualifications:
The internship is open to undergraduate students who will have completed at least 30 hours of undergraduate studies before the internship commences or graduate students. Interns should possess the following:
- Excellent research, writing and communications skills
- Strong social media skills
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- A strong interest in civil rights and freedoms
- Familiar with Adobe Premiere, Canva and Sprout Social
- Excellent time-management skills - including the ability to multi-task
- Photography experience a plus
